DUET
DUET is a modern task chair developed for contemporary work environments, designed to be lightweight yet highly technical. The approach is centered around a clean and fluid line that makes the chair appear as one continuous form while delivering comfort and functionality. DUET is, on one hand, a reliable everyday work chair, and on the other, an innovative platform with backrest alternatives that adapt to different users and spaces.
The defining feature of the chair is its dual backrest concept. The same frame, seat, and arm structure can accommodate different backrest solutions. This allows DUET to appeal both to users who prefer the familiar support of mesh and to those who look for the new generation of flexible grid surfaces. This duality is expressed in the idea of “Two backrests, one comfort.”
DUET_Air features a one-piece injection-molded stretch TPU grid backrest. The material’s elasticity and the varying thickness across its zones allow the back to adapt to the user’s movements with micro-flexibility. Mechanically clipped onto the inner frame, the structure is durable and easy to detach. Its open grid form ensures continuous airflow, while the adaptable flex zones enhance long-term comfort and ergonomic support.
DUET_Mesh offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic mesh backrest. With high breathability and long-term shape stability, the mesh version is a familiar yet effective alternative within the same product platform.
Development & Design
The design language is based on a loop structure that visually connects the frame, back, and arms with a single line. This reduces the number of components and gives the chair a silhouette of its own. The goal is to create a chair that feels both stable and visually light, with main elements that can be interchanged or adapted to different configurations.
The chair’s technical features include the height adjustment, back tilting with upright lock, and adjustable armrests with PU pads. The main structure is also made of glass-fiber reinforced PA6, delivering structural strength while allowing for straightforward disassembly and recyclability.
DUET is not only defined by what it is today, but also by what it can become. The same loop-arm and frame platform can support backrests of different heights and functions, making it a versatile foundation for a broader family of products. This adaptability gives DUET the potential to evolve into a complete seating collection.
